Design and development of a range of location-responsive smartphone-based games for museums, including Plymouth City Museum, UK, and the National Museum of Denmark, created in collaboration with Dr Emma Whittaker.
Working like a treasure hunt, the game required visitors to hunt down items held in museum collections within a time limit. The app utilised Bluetooth Low Energy 'beacons' to track the location of players in relation to objects and rooms, and feedback on their progress, using custom code that I developed for the project.
The Lost Index was presented at the International Conference on Interactive Digital Storytelling, Copenhagen, the Digital Research in the Humanities and Arts Conference, Greenwich, London, the National Archives DCDC conference, Salford, and The Archivist as Intepreter Conference at the British Library, London.
It was nominated for a Media Innovation Award in 2015.
